FIGHTING TO END POVERTY IN THE UK
ABOUT

OUR STORY
In July 2010, The Matthew Tree Project charity was established with the objective to eradicate poverty from the UK. Through a process of co-production with beneficiaries, we created, piloted, developed, tested, and refined the pioneering and innovative 'gold-standard' multiple award winning social change model, Rebuilding Lives. This phase in the mission is viewed as the gestation period. The next stage is to pass on what we have learnt to others with similar values and mission so that the effectiveness of the model can benefit a greater number of people across the whole of the country.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to eradicate poverty from the UK. Since 2010, insight, knowledge, understanding, experience and expertise has been gained by working on the frontline with those directly affected by poverty in the UK. Thousands of vulnerable households have been empowered and given the tools they needed to escape poverty through the creation and development of an innovative and pioneering social change model, Rebuilding Lives. The holistic programme, nationally recognised as a 'best practice representative' in community based health and social care services, effectively addresses the symptoms and the underlying causes of poverty, enabling people to rebuild a happier, healthier and wealthier future.
OUR OBJECTIVE
Our objective is to engage with national and local governmental policymakers to effect systemic change with the aim of creating a fairer society where people's basic needs are met and inequality is reduced. Our aim in establishing RISE Social Enterprise is to create a vehicle through which we can advise and help other charitable and social enterprise organisations to implement sustainable financial strategies to secure the funding needed to develop new, (or improve existing), empowering and effective frontline crisis support services.
BENEFITS
The benefits to smaller, younger organisations in working with a highly respected and established model in this way is to save time and money, not making the same mistakes, ensuring effective development of the organisation and service offering, avoiding unnecessary duplication by benefiting from collaborative partnership working. The help we give is in the form of professional consultancy services tailored to ensure each charity we work with maintains complete independence and autonomy. It is the shared values and the shared mission that bind us together and allows each and every organisation we work with to flourish in their own unique way, to the benefit of their local community.
By working together, my hope is that we will achieve our goal of ending poverty in the UK.
